It's a Trap!

February 5, 2014

Begin Hamlet!
Big Idea: Force
End Performance Task: Argumentative Research Paper

Starter:

1.  Watch Mean Girls Clip.

 Hook:
How do we form traps in our everyday lives?  Think about who you would like to trap and why you would do it.  How would you do it?  Is it simple?  Is it elaborate and down right dirty?  Either in your notebook or on your computer reflect on and answer these questions.

Create the trap!

Share with the class.

Activity:
 Read Act 1. Scene 1-2.
In groups of 5 read scenes as specific character.  Some of you will have to assume 2 roles.

When finished reading the play once, go back to section 1.2.1–164.  Turn these lines into a skit with your group.  Decide on stage directions, facial expressions, movements, etc.  Condense scene into a 5 minute skit that will be presented to class.

Begin presenting today and finish tomorrow at the the beginning of class.

We will then compare the different interpretations tomorrow.
